I use balanced dog training methods (hence the name) which is an approach that incorporates a combination of positive reinforcement and corrective training techniques . The goal of balanced training is to use a variety of tools and methods to effectively communicate with the dog, aiming to achieve reliable and consistent behavior.
I have been training dogs for the past 4+ years professionally. I have worked with various types of dogs with a wide range of goals and issues. I have experience in working with very young puppies all the way to senior dogs, and everything in between!
Glad you asked! We take pride in the safety measures we have in place for our board & train pups or any pups in our care. Beginning with the day we pick up your dog.
Car Safety:
-Your dog will always travel in a crash proof dog crate in our trainers vehicles
-Your dog will not be left in any vehicle without the proper AC, heat and/or ventilation
Kennel Safety:
Once your dog arrives at our kennel facility which is located on the trainers private home property:
- Your dog will have a camera system monitoring the indoor and outdoor areas of the kennel
-We have temperature sensors in place that will send us a notification immediately in the event of a power outage or AC/Heat issue
Training Safety:
-Your dog will not be trained outdoors in severe weather, in extreme heat, or in extreme cold temperatures
-Your dog will always wear a secure slip leash, collar, and/or e-collar when they exit the kennel facility to participate in different types of training or travel
Dog Health Safety:
-Every dog is required to be up to date on all vaccines before coming to training or boarding
-We have a strict cleaning schedule for all areas dogs come in contact with in and out of the kennel
This answer may vary as we do offer discounted boarding to previous clients after they have trained with us. Of course special occasions and holidays we may be more of a full house compared to less busy months.
-During normal months our trainers take no more than 4-5 board and train dogs at once
-During "peak" holiday seasons it is typical we see a lot of old training clients in addition to the new pups we are currently training. During these "peak" seasons there is no more than 4-5 board and train dogs, and no more than 3-5 boarding clients. For a total of no more than 10 dogs in the kennel at one time!
When your dog is not actively training or playing your dog will spend his/her downtime outdoors (weather permitting) or in their crate indoors.
This question is a yes and no answer!
-At this time we are not offering in person facility tour visits
Balanced K9 Solutions is currently operating on personal home property to multiple families on a farm family compound. Due to this we try to respect the privacy of our other family members, and do not conduct visits, pick-ups/drop-offs or lessons at the kennel facility. Also for the privacy and respect of other dogs in training that you may disrupt that may be in training or boarding for a wide variety of reasons or issues.
BUT...
-We do offer FaceTime or Zoom live video tours upon request! As well as video and pictures of the kennel your dog will be staying in as well as the training yard.
We do appreciate your understanding on this topic while we work towards a public training facility.
